Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

  • I love Thanksgiving in the mountains at my uncle's cabin, it's such a great Thanksgiving-ish setting The fiance loved it too.
  • For all of our deciding not to spend a lot of money on buying presents, we definitely got some great deals this weekend.
  • The fiance bought me a Cricut machine and 4 cartridges (plus the one cartridge I bought). He cannot resist spoiling me. Plus, we're going to use this machine on the wedding invitations, thank yous, place cards, table numbers, favors, etc. It will be well used. :)
  • We leave for the east coast in just over 2 weeks! Talk about a whirlwind trip. I've NEVER done anything like this.
  • The fiance took me to see New Moon yesterday. They did a much better job with this one (not that I disliked the first one). I also now want the soundtrack score. I may force myself to wait until after Christmas, since I don't really need to spend the money right now.
  • We got the coolest new brush for Kara, the FURminator. It's a lot of fun to brush her...until she gets bored and runs away.
  • I love long weekends, they're quite relaxing and fun.

Glad you had a good time. The Furminator looks awesome. Do they make one for humans?

Trooper-Thanks :) Umm, I'm not sure. It might hurt since humans don't have an undercoat, but hey, you never know ;)

I REALLY want a FURminator for Christmas! (And, now that I've typed that I realize that I am old and pathetic...because I just asked for a dog brush.)

Momo-You are not old and pathetic...this thing is really awesome. (the fiance and I actually sort of argued over who got to use it first)

You so did NOT get a Cricut!!! I'm jealous, Jaina. Seriously jealous. I've been eyeing those things for quite sometime, but they're so darn expensive and unlike you I can't justify spending that much on it right now! :)

Jessica-Lol. Your comment made me laugh. I did get one. I've been eying them for ages. Only reason the fiance bought it for me is because it was on sale for $100 (from $299). We're going to use it on about a million wedding things, so it was worth the expense. If it was just for normal fun stuff we wouldn't have got it. I hope you get one soon, they're awesome! Hey, maybe if you sing Santa a song or something ;)

Oooh a cabin sounds wonderful!

yeah, we are able to cut back this year on gifts too. Before, all the siblings and their spouses got everyone gifts for Christmas. But this year we just drew a name between us. yay for simplifying!

Jaina said...

Yaya-It really is :) Simplifying is awesome! That's how we do gifts in my extended family.

Sounds like a magical setting for Thanksgiving. I'm glad you both had a wonderful time.

Never pass up an excellent deal. It sounds like it will be getting so much use, that it will practically pay for itself.

I've always wanted to get the Fuminator for my big dog. It seems like such a great idea.

Let me know how you like the east coast. Hope you don't get snowed in!

Cheryl-Magical is a great word :) Deals are always great, I'm so glad the fiance acted on this one. The FURminator is SO worth it...you will love it! I'll definitely post stories and whatnot when I get back. I haven't decided, but I'll probably take a hiatus from blogging while I'm gone. I may have a couple of scheduled posts, but I'm not sure I'll have time to do those. We'll have to see.

That's such a great idea for your invites. That way you are investing in something you can use down the road! Yeah New Moon. Yeah Furminator! LOL! I enjoy both of those things.

Denise-Definitely. I know that I'm going to use my Cricut for tons of wedding related things, and then I get to use it for scrapbooking and cards and whatnot after we're married! (I know I can use it for that now, but in all reality, I probably won't until after the wedding)
