In which I start talking about whales and end up with scary movies...

I think I'm in love...again. When I was younger, I had two favorite animals: horses and orcas. One for land, one for sea. I never stopped loving orcas, but over time it faded a bit. But it's back, in the form of a year-round pass to Sea World, where I can go anytime I want and see these beautiful creatures. (and all their other sea friends too)
When I was younger I wanted to be a Sea World trainer. Naturally, I was in love with the Free Willy movies (2 was my favorite of the three)
We've been to Sea World twice this week, just for an hour or two after work. I'm excited because they switch to summer hours this weekend, which means fireworks every night for the rest of the summer! Did I mention that I love fireworks too? It's in my blood I think. My whole extended family seems to love them, we all have this fascination with them. I say it's in my blood, because my Grandpa used to build fireworks in his basement when he was little. Don't worry, it was back in the day when it was legal to have such materials. He loved that sort of stuff,
my Grandpa is pretty amazing. He almost worked for the FBI once upon a time, they offered him a position and everything...forensics I think. I love stories of his childhood, and one of my favorites is about him building fireworks and exploding things in the basement. See, there was this nosy, busy-body woman who lived next door. Her kitchen window looked into their basement window, and she was forever nosing around, calling over saying, "do you know what your son is doing now?" Haha, of course, my Grandpa was mischievous when he was younger...still is actually...so he would do things to purposely "get her goat". He's a sneaky one, my Grandpa. He has the best stories. :)

Wow, list of movies I will NOT be seeing:
The Strangers
Quarantine

Movie I kinda want to see but shouldn't:
The Happening

Scary movies and me? We're not friends. A couple Halloweens ago my friends and I went to the pumpkin patch and came home to carve pumpkins. They decided we should watch a scary movie, and really the only one we had was I Know What You Did Last Summer. So we put it on. Needless to say, I think they had more fun watching me scream through the movie than they did watching it. Me and scary movies? We don't get along. Why then, did I spend a good portion of the morning watching The Strangers trailer and clips from the movie? Crazy...those alone scared me. They also sparked a fun scary story discussion amongst those of us here in the office. To top it off, it's stormy and raining here today.

This post might be slightly disjointed, I started it yesterday and have been writing on and off all day. I'm so incredibly scattered. Kind of annoying actually. Perhaps I'll get a good post in soon. Until then, thanks for bearing with me. I'll get back into the swing of things soon. If I don't manage to get on here, I hope you all have a pleasant Memorial Day weekend!
