Weekend Getaway

It wasn't exactly a spa trip, but my weekend at home with my family was just what I needed. I had a fabulous time when they were down here visiting me and I was really sad when they left. (I literally spent two afternoons/evenings in tears...and that's saying something, I don't generally cry) The third day my mom asked if I wanted to come home this past weekend to help my brother finish his video project and work on my room. (we're turning it into a guest room)

Nothing overly cool happened, it was just much needed quality time with my amazing family. I have to admit that I was sad to leave and I struggled to not cry as I started my drive back here...but I settled down, and am in much better spirits now. I guess I was just a little bit homesick. Only natural, right?

So far this week is going quite well. Except for the part where I want it to be the weekend again already. I hope you all are having lovely weeks so far, I promise to write some more interesting posts this week. I feel like I've been slightly boring as of late, and, well, that's just....boring. I'll try and get the Frosted Pink video clipped so I can post it. :)

You are never boring. I love your posts. They reflect you fun, caring and giving spirit.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your time at home with your family. Sometimes just being with the ones we love most can be the cure for just about anything. Being homesick is normal. Sometimes it just hits out of the blue too.

Looking forward to seeing the video.

Just try to occupy your mind and call home often. I have never lived away from home, so I can't say that I know how you feel. But I do feel for you.

Cheryl-Thank you :) Hopefully I'll get the video up soon.

Mrs. D-Thanks :)

BORING?!!

No, I don't think so.

It isn't always easy to think of something over-the-top, 3 or 4 times a week. I just love hearing your day-to-day activities. (Gives you and idea of my boring life.. ;)

It is nice to visit with family and friends from time to time. But, as the old cliche' goes: "It's always nice to get back home" and settled into the old routine of things.

I hope you have a fun-filled week and I too am looking forward to seeing the video~~~~~

Gramma Ann-Thank you so much :) And yes, it's true. I'm working on the video...hopefully I'll have it up by the end of the week. Just have to figure out the technical side of it.

You give me hope that when my son leaves on his mission, he might actually miss our crazy house! I'm so glad that you got to enjoy your family for a couple of days! {{{HUGS}}}

So glad you had a good time with your family. Sometimes it is the most simple events and times that end up being so special and needed!

Take care - Kellan

i have never found you boring either. did you and your family make it to the zoo? your zoo is way better than ours! i remember when i was your age, i was very sad to leave my family. i think as you grow older it gets a little easier. it's great that you have such a good relationship with them and can visit often.

Erin-Thank you so much, that means a lot. :) And we definitely made it to the zoo, it was amazing, we had such a good time. I really need to get caught up on my pictures, I took a ton at the zoo.

It's wonderful that you have such a great relationship with your family. And maybe one day when you are old like me, you can move back home, build a house right next door to your parents and have free babysitting! :)

(The old kitchen table is currently in the basement. I'm trying to decide what (if anything) I can do with it.)

You are not boring! I love that you had some quality time with your family, and I must say...I'm a bit jealous! I would enjoy that right about now myself.

Jaina said...

Beth - That might be fun, I'd love to be closer to my parents. I've loved living so nearby my grandparents through junior high and high school.

Momo - Thank you. :) It was wonderful to be home for a time. I hope you get some family time soon :)
