Stalling

I've often times considered writing a post about bathroom stalls. I know, I'm crazy, I promise I didn't fall down and hit my head (though I won't promise that a wall didn't jump out in my path...)
Nearly everyday at work I walk into the ladies' room and am faced with not one or two, but about 10 different stalls from which to choose. I know that something silly like which stall to go into doesn't really matter in the long run. Generally, we choose the one that's open. But what do you do when all of them are deserted? Do you go into the same stall each time, or do you play musical stalls?
Clearly I have too much time on my hands to think about such silly things. But it's been a random post tugging at the back of my brain for many weeks. I finally relented and wrote it. About bathroom stalls. Yeah. I'll wander away now. Gotta take the bf to the airport.

Haha, I seem to change it up every now and then. I think it's just funny. :)

just don't do anything in those bathroom stalls that will get you in trouble :)(you know what i'm talking about right?)if not click here: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=2779
i rarely use the same bathroom and now i usually choose the handicap-i know how horrible-but it's the only one that fits the stroller!

I just try to pick the one that doesn't have pee all over it.

Erin-Haha, wouldn't think of it. :) And I know my mom did the same thing when the boys were in strollers still, no harm in that.

Mrs. D-haha, ALWAYS a good choice.

I so play musical stalls! I look for the one is the cleanest, doesn't have any....drips on the seat and has toilet paper. At work, it is easier, it is just one nice bathroom for teachers. Not much choosing. BUT in public, I total pick. Hate touching door handles with my hands, thought I'd throw that useless bit of information out.

Thanks for being sweet about my last post. I felt a bit hurt...my kids are my life, hard to sort them out. I'm trying very hard to be "POSITIVE" but at times it is hard when kids are hurting.

Cheryl-Haha, sounds good to me. I'm not a huge fan of touching the doors/handles either.
I can only imagine how difficult it is, but I can see your positivity shining through quite frequently. We all have our down days, they're not much fun, but they're natural. I hope things get to looking up again. You totally deserve it.

BRING ON THE BATHROOM STALLS. :)

"Public Bathroom Stalls" are not my favorite things, but, what would we do without them?

My pet peeve about bathroom stalls are: "Why are they so small?"

The other day I got in the stall, but when I opened the door, or should I say tried to open the door, there wasn't room for me and the door both. I had to turn sideways and then open the door so I could get back out of the thing.

I am a pleasingly plump older lady. (Now that was saying it nicely) I notice a lot of women a bit more pleasingly plump then myself, so, I asked myself, 'how in the world do they get in and out of these little stalls?'

Because, once you manage to get in the stall, you want to leave without tearing the door off. Maybe that is why a lot of the doors only work about half, I don't know. Does anyone know? I wonder?

People can be particular in regards to their potties. When using a public restroom, I usually use the handicap stall because I have the girls with me and we need all the room possible with the huge stroller. Plus having the sink is a plus.

When I worked outside of the home, I had my "favorite" stall that I always went to unless it was occupied. Then I picked another one. I had some co-workers that would only use one stall and wait until that one was available...even if the others were open. There was even one co-worker that would not sure the restroom if anyone else was in there! Talk about a "shy" person.

In regards to touching the door knobs...cannot do it. I use a clean sheet of paper towel...and I also flush the toilet with clean paper in my hand. Just a habit.

MamaGeek-I absolutely love you. ;)

Gramma Ann-SERIOUSLY!!! I don't remember where I was, but you literally had to slide in to the side of the toilet just to close the door, and then your knees nearly touched the door. Clearly they did NOT plan that well.

Scarlet-Yeah, I love the ones with the sinks in them. That definitely sounds like a shy person. See, I'm glad I posted this. Clearly I'm not the only person who notices or thinks about such things. :)

Cheryl-Thanks! I'm working on them right now :)

My pet peeve is when someone at my workplace pees all over the seat and leaves it that way. Hello! Do they pee on the seat at their home? Well, my workplace is my second home--don't pee on my seat!! :)

Kellan said...

This is funny and it is interesting to think about. I think I would stick to the same one.

Take care - Kellan

Jaina said...

Petunia-EWWW! I know, how gross!! I mean, if you make a mess, clean it up! It's not fair to the poor people who have to clean up after you, that's just disgusting.

Kellan-Haha, it's a random thought I have quite often. My mind is just bizarre. I tend to stick with one stall and have a backup in case someone happens to be in the "norm", but eventually I catch myself and try to change it up...until the next time I catch myself caught in the pattern. Lol

This isn't as off the wall as you think.

I actually go into a bathroom and go against my first instinct for stall choice...figuring that everyone else probably chose that stall. Instead I go to a stall that is farthest, or on the left, or whatever seems against the grain. Hi. My name is Momo and I'm a germophobe.

Jaina said...

Momo-Haha, I like that way. :)

Kimberly Vanderhorst said...

I always pick the first one. I read somewhere once that it's the last popular (least private, maybe?) so it's usually cleaner. Don't know why that stuck in my head but it did.

Jaina said...

Kim-Very interesting, I'd never heard that before.

You crack me up. I actually give it quite a bit of thought. I like to go for the handicapped stall, but the only problem is the toilet is usually too high to squat over and I don't like to put my bare ass and thighs all over a germ covered toilet seat.

Since I have to urinate about every 10 minutes from all the caffeine I consume, public bathrooms are an important part of my life.

Jaina said...

Jill-Yeah, those ones are pretty tall.

EatPlayLove said...

I tend to be a regular. A regular in the clean stall.

Jaina said...

EatPlayLove-Haha, love the way you worded that. :)

I love this random stalling post! SO funny! :) I think that I always pick the same one.... but then again, I'm not often in public restrooms on a count I don't get out much! :)

Jaina said...

Carrie & Troy-Thank! I'm glad I finally posted it.

Hi Jaina, I hope you find this, I thought it would be more appropriate to post this here.

You know Sunday is fast approaching and the "Frosted Pink..." special will be on TV. Please give us a picture so I know who to look for in all the dancers. If you want to send it in my e-mail I will give it to you. I doubt you want to do that, but just a thought. gramma ann

Jaina said...

Gramma Ann-You're right, it is fast approaching. I'm not a huge picture poster...not of people anyways...but I'll put up a picture of me before Sunday, and replace it later. :)

Great! I'll be looking for it.
