Like a Dream

I know that it's late and I should probably be asleep, especially considering I have to be to work at 7 in the morning. But how exactly am I supposed to sleep after spending the evening singing with Carole King, meeting people like Jesse McCartney and Scott Hamilton, and hanging out with the Olympic gymnasts? I mean seriously, it was amazingly cool. It finally hit me. Like, wow. Don't worry, you can all be proud of me, I was totally cool while I was there. It was the wowness afterwards, when I was no longer in the presence of everyone, that I allowed to have me go crazy. We spent a lot of time talking with Justin Spring because he was only in a couple routines after an injury.
It's too bad that Jesse McCartney came around the time I was ending my boy band phase, because he definitely had his arm around me when we took a group picture with him. Hey, at least now I can tell the difference between him and Aaron Carter. (I swear when he first came out I used to think he was Aaron Carter) He was very nice though, and totally cool. Scott Hamilton was super nice too, but we didn't get to chat with him very long because he was hosting and was out on stage most of the time. His co-host was Shannon Miller, who was absolutely gorgeous. She was nice, but we didn't get to talk to her much either...I think she was sick too, which is absolutely no fun. Our dressing room was right next to hers and then the large room for all of the gymnasts and dancers. It was so neat just to hang out with all of them.
Shawn Johnson is such a sweetheart, I absolutely loved her. I actually took a picture of her with Jesse McCartney because her camera broke.
I hate to admit, but I don't know who Mario is...but we met him, and we have a picture with him, and he was super nice. He sang really well out on stage. Oh, and Carole and Jesse sang a duet of You've Got A Friend. It was absolutely beautiful. Kenny Loggins was also there, but we didn't really get the chance to meet him. But we were all absolutely thrilled when he sang Footloose, we were all backstage dancing around. It was fabulous. Singing with Carole? Absolutely, incredibly wonderful. There were so many people there, and she just absolutely loved us. It was SO incredible to sing back up for such a wonderfully talented woman like Carole. She was just absolutely wonderful. (yes, I realize that by the time I'm done writing I will probably have exhausted the majority of-if not all of-the adjectives in the English language to describe such experiences. I will have to move on to French or something.)
Everyone was so nice to us, it was such an amazing experience. I feel like my words are not doing it nearly enough justice. But I am a little bit tired, and should probably be getting to bed. I'm sure I will have more stories to share tomorrow. And you know we'll revisit it before the show airs on ABC on October 12 from 4-6 p.m. EST. (oh yeah, I definitely just worked that in) And I'm sure I'll have comments after watching the show (which of course will be recorded and DVR'd to memorialize the incredible time I had this weekend)
Alright. Enough. Like I told the bf (who, by the way, has been wonderful about me changing plans on him this weekend), sometimes you just have to tell me to shut up or my mouth will just keep going and going and going...like the energizer bunny...only without a bass drum.

I'm excited just reading your commentary of the evening. Was that a wrap up, or a rehearsal?

I must admit I don't recognize some of the names, but I will learn who they are as I watch the show. Or maybe, I will google them and familiarize myself with them that way.

Jaina, have a nice week.

Gramma Ann-Thanks! It was the actual show. We had one rehearsal with Carole on Saturday, and then the show was on Sunday. And don't worry, I still don't know who Mario is. Hope you have a great week as well!

It wasn't the Mario who danced on "Dancing With The Stars" a few years ago. He is a real cutie.

MamaGeek-She really is so cute. She's super nice too. I felt like an Amazon though, because I'm really tall, and she's really short. But she was super sweet.

Gramma Ann-No, I don't think so...this guy was a singer. I think maybe Hip Hop?

I think he was on "Dancing With The Stars" this past season. Is he say 22 years old or there's about?
