Sing once again with me

I finally got the chance to see Phantom of the Opera live on stage. I've wanted to ever since my best friend Ani and his mom introduced me to it in the movie theater several years ago.
The handbell choir that I sometimes play with got a section of seats to opening night of Phantom here, and they invited me along. I even got to take the bf with me (he bought me a shiny program!) It was absolutely incredible. We had great orchestra level seats and could see everything. It was seamless, better than I had imagined it would be. I've loved Phantom of the Opera since Ani introduced me to it, so last night was about the coolest thing ever. Simply amazing! It's really only the second show I've seen on stage (Broadway-type show, not amateur productions) The other was Jesus Christ Superstar back in 9th grade during our band trip to New York. I saw it on Broadway and absolutely loved it. I still need to see Wicked and Rent, I'd love to see Hairspray, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, and other Broadway classics like Cats and Chorus Line. Basically I just love Broadway shows, and want to see more of them.

Oh, what fun! All my friends and kids liked 'Phantom.' My young friends got the video and made me watch it with them a few years ago. I think I'm to old to appreciate it the way you young people do...But, I did like the music;))

I loved the movie, it's how I fell in love with Phantom. I still think I prefer Emmy Rossum's for Christine...her voice is just so soft and pure, not as overly operatic as others. I thoroughly enjoyed the cast last night though. I LOVE the organ...it's my favorite part, all the organ in the composition. They used steal drums too..didn't notice till last night, but it was a great effect.

We all love Phantom in this house. I am so excited you got the chance to see it live. I have seen it 3 times live and still come away so emotional. I loved the movie too.

We are such a Broadway family. Wicked is amazing, as is Hairspray and the others you listed. Something about a Broadway show can just life your spirits so very high. I feel happy for days, after seeing one.

I wish I could go to New York and spend several weeks living on Broadway. Maybe someday. There are SO many shows that I still want to see.

I'm jealous! I've always wanted to see a Broadway show (and never have). I'm living vicariously through you. :-)

I suppose I'll just have to see more shows so you can continue to live vicariously through me...I can't let you down! ;) (of course, it has NOTHING to do with finding an excuse to go to more shows) One of these days I'll get back to NYC and go to Broadway shows ON Broadway. :)

My first date with my husband was to go see "Phantom" and a friend of mine sang "All I Ask of You" at our wedding.

We live very close to NY but I haven't seen a Broadway show in years! I want to take my girls to one...so much fun!

Caffeine Court-Oh how fun! How nice of your friend, that sounds super sweet. I hope you got that on video somewhere. I'm sure your girls would love a Broadway show. They're wonderful.

Thanks Randy, what an awesome site! Thanks for pointing me in that direction. I can't wait to get back to New York. I've been twice, but both times were with larger groups and not on my own schedule. I want to go when I make the rules and can do exactly what I want, take time to enjoy the city. Thanks for stopping by! Do you have a blog somewhere other than blogger? Leave me a link so I can visit if you do!
