No Job Hunts Today

I sit here simultaneously cheering and breathing a HUGE sigh of relief. See, my position isn't "permanent", and I was only guaranteed funding until the end of June. My boss, her boss and her boss' boss have all been working to get me on permanent, but with the current budget situation it was still up in the air. While I do not have a permanent position yet, I am going to have a job for at least another year. I'm cleared through the end of June NEXT year, which gives them plenty of time to work on getting my position fully funded.

I hadn't talked about it too much. No point in stressing about it, it wouldn't do any good. The only thing I could do was pray and continue to give my job my 100%. It sucks having your fate in someone else's hands, but there wasn't much I could do. I was SO relieved when my boss and her boss brought me into the office to give me the good news. It's such a relief...and the wonderful things they said...it's so nice to feel appreciated, to feel like what I do is noticed. I can breathe a big sigh of relief now.

Jaina, I am so glad for you! Another year is great, and who knows, the economy may improve by next year. It sounds like your boss and boses boss really appreciate you, and that must be a wonderful feeling. Congratulations!

I will also continue to pray for Dave.

Huggies and blessings,

Renie

So glad that you have that security! And it IS wonderful to hear good things and know you and your work are appreciated!

(My tip for learning to sew - Halloween Costumes. They only have to look good for one night, in the dark, and everyone is impressed. Plus, you can use cheap fabric and it doesn't look cheap. Great practice! By the time your kids are old enough for prom dresses, you'll be a pro!)

Renie-Thanks! It really is a wonderful feeling. And thank you for your continued prayers for Dave...I need to double check details with my dad for another update.

Supercool Hotmama-Thanks! It absolutely is. Thanks for the sewing tip! I need to get a sewing machine I think...

I, too, am glad you have security in today's market. A collective SIGH is in order.

MamaGeek-Thanks. :) I'm still breathing a sigh of relief. While I'd love to spend a good month or so at home, I did not want to have to move back long-term. (my mom is of the same opinion too) Now I just have to keep praying that they are able to work out so I have a permanent position.

It's not a good time to have to look for a job, so that's great news that you won't have to worry for at least another year!

Jaina said...

Milo-Definitely not. Thank you so much! Hopefully between now and then they'll be able to offer me a permanent position.
