One of Those Days

It's one of those days. You know the one. The one where you want to scream or tear your hair out. Where every little thing drives you absolutely insane and you think you might just spontaneously combust? Yeah, one of those days. Little things annoy me, the calls have been ridiculous things, just getting on my nerves. Example of a call where I wanted to yell at the user:

User: "Hi this is [name] from the [name]. Is there any way you can reach my tech and have him call me?"
Me: "I can try, I'm not sure your tech is in yet"
User: "Oh, okay. well can you have my tech call me when they get in?"
Me: "Can I get your extension?"
User: [gives me the extension]
Me: "And can I tell him what this is regarding"?
User: "well I sent my tech an email and I haven't yet received a reply, so I'm trying to figure out what I can do to fix the problem. The email has what the problem is"
In my head: AAAAAAAARGH
What I actually said: "Okay, thanks, I'll have your tech call you."

My very annoyed inner voice: "I sent my tech an email and they haven't responded yet. I sent it like FIVE SECONDS ago!!!!!!!!!! and I can't tell you what the problem is, it's top secret and I can't even hint at it, it's in the email, you know, the one that my tech HASN'T replied to yet even though I sent it just a moment ago. What do you mean my tech is not here yet?
It's the crack of dawn and I have a problem (that I refuse to divulge to you even thought it's possible that you might be able to help) why is my tech not at my beck and call? Why can't you call my tech and have them call me RIGHT NOW! Why can't my tech instantaneously mentally connect to my computer and FIX MY PROBLEM!!!"

Seriously. And that was just one of the annoying exasperating phone calls I've gotten this morning. Honestly? Some of my irrational frustration is coming from us maybe not getting to build the patio cover this weekend because my dad is being stubborn and insisting that he has to be there when we do it, and they're busy a lot on Saturday. My mom's figuring stuff out, but I'm going to be really annoyed if we have to wait until JULY, when it's hot and summer is already half over, to put up the patio, because my parents won't be there 100% of the time this weekend. (we would have to wait until July because that will be the soonest after this weekend that we would be able to get up there)

So hopefully my users will stop making dumb calls, and hopefully my mom will call with a positive answer about this weekend.

I hate, hate, hate frustrating calls. Sometimes it takes everything I have to be professional....Grrr.

I hope you get that patio cover up before the July heat. My husband is like that, he always wants to be there when I do a home project or if my brother is there helping me. It gets so frustrating. I do hope it works out for you.

Have a good week!!!

Thanks Mama Geek, your hugs and well wishes were definitely felt. :)

Eileen, it looks like we're going to get things up this weekend, I'm SO excited! And I can understand the frustration of someone being very unhelpful while trying their best to be helpful.

Thanks Diva, I appreciate it.
